Norwegian Offshore Rental AS (NOR) has recently signed a rental agreement with OTAQ Offshore (OTAQ) to represent the company’s technology and products in the Norwegian offshore sector.

NOR is a significant provider of rental equipment to the offshore, subsea, and fish farm industries. The Haugesund based company offers hundreds of rental equipment. Earlier this year, they opened a second office in Aberdeen in order to better serve the offshore and subsea industry from both sides of the North Sea.

Based in Aberdeen, Scotland, OTAQ are experts in engineering and manufacturing underwater leak detection systems, laser measurement and video processing technologies. The company supports customer activities in the offshore energy, aquaculture, commercial diving, defence and oceanographic research industries worldwide. On the addition of OTAQ products to NOR’s extensive product portfolio of underwater equipment, Olafur Gislason, Managing Director, stated: “We are always looking to grow our inventory with the best products on the market. This is part of our ongoing mission to provide quality equipment and service to the offshore and subsea industries.”

The agreement will see NOR represent a number of industry-renowned technologies, including the OceanSENSE and DragonFish solutions. Deployed in the dual roles of subsea leak and cement returns detection, OceanSENSE is recognised as the industry standard and has been deployed successfully for over 50,000 offshore days globally. The offshore proven DragonFish high precision laser measurement system generates sub-millimetric measurements of welds, chains and other targets from a low cost easy to operate package. NOR will also represent OTAQ’s new Eagle IP range of high quality IP ethernet underwater HD cameras and IP integration infrastructure products. As well as these solutions, NOR will have access to OTAQ Groups aquaculture and connector portfolios and already have multiple OceanSENSE units based in Haugesund available for rapid mobilisation.

Callum Magee, Offshore Business Development Manager at OTAQ Group, added: “The development of our distributor network is a key element of our market penetration strategy and we are delighted to be working with NOR, their knowledge, ethos and energy fits perfectly with OTAQ’s long-term goals”.
