OTAQ Offshore launch Eagle IP Vision, a portable recording system for underwater cameras

4th February 2021

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Eagle IP Vision. A brand-new product set to fill a gap in OTAQ’s offering, Eagle IP Vision is an addition to the current Eagle IP range which will enable users to record video for underwater HD cameras.

Complimenting our existing Eagle IP system, the new piece of kit is a portable recording system compatible with our existing Eagle IP HD underwater cameras designed for use in harsh environments, complete with a robust, waterproof multi-point touch-pad. The Haptic feedback enables the system to be fully operational in all weather conditions.

Eagle IP vision has been engineered for operation in open boats and on back decks of larger vessels, and is designed around an industry-standard PELI case that is fully IP65 waterproof rated when open (IP67 when closed).

The Eagle IP Vision will give users the ability to deploy the market-leading system capturing footage from some of the world’s harshest, most remote environments, and is set to benefit a long list of industries including offshore energy, pipeline inspection, Aquaculture for seabed surveys and general underwater inspection i.e moorings and nets, and onshore operations such as public utilities and hydro dams.

Chris Hyde, Chief Technology Offer, OTAQ, said: “Our highly experienced engineering team has brought this technology to life over the past year, and we are please to be able to offer this new product to complete our Eagle IP system”.

“Innovation is at the forefront of everything we do, and this latest addition bolsters our position as global experts in underwater technology.”

OceanSENSE At Subsea Expo 2020

2nd February 2020

OceanSENSE, the market leading subsea leak and cement returns detection system, will be showcased at the upcoming Subsea Expo Exhibition (Aberdeen, Scotland).

Live demonstrations will be carried out on the OTAQ Offshore stand (No. 121) across all exhibition days, where offshore operators have the opportunity to discuss with OTAQ’s team of highly experienced industry professionals their project requirements and challenges. OTAQ will also be carrying out live demonstrations of their DragonFish Laser Measurement System and Eagle IP Range of high definition cameras and IP device integration solutions.

With a rental pool of over 80 assets, OceanSENSE is deployed globally to detect fluorescing dye escaping from leaking subsea structures or cement returns at the seafloor during well completions.  Used by many of the world’s biggest offshore and subsea operators including Oceaneering, Subsea 7, Halliburton, Fugro and TechnipFMC, OceanSENSE has accrued over 1000 offshore projects and in excess of 40,000 offshore days with a near 100% success rate. The result is a hard won reputation for reliability and repeatability of results, while protecting the environment and reducing offshore operational costs.

Utilising cutting edge technology, the ROV mount or diver held OceanSENSE is extremely sensitive. The industry standard when mixing fluorescing dye into the carrier medium is 200 parts per million – OceanSENSE detects dye down to 6 parts per billion!  OceanSENSE is a software feedback based solution that removes human judgement and inconsistencies from the detection operation, the system unequivocally informs the operator when dye is present in the water column, thus locating the leak, confirming asset integrity or confirming the arrival of cement at the seafloor.

For live demonstrations of OceanSENSE and OTAQ’s other market leading solutions, please contact us directly or visit us on Stand No. 121, Subsea Expo Exhibition, 11-13 February 2020, P&J Live, Aberdeen, UK.
